SouthWood neighborhood is a Community Development District (CDD). Although construction in SouthWood began in the early 2000s, the neighborhood still looks brand new, due in part to the active HOA. SouthWood Golf Course 

One big draw is SouthWood’s golf course and the golf cart community lifestyle. SouthWood’s course was named one of the top 35 New Courses in America by Golf Magazine and it’s easy to see why. Designed by Fred Couples, the course was also named One of the Top 50 Courses for women by Women in Golf Magazine. The rolling hills, gorgeous pasturelands and beautiful oak trees provide a stunning backdrop to the game. As a public course, there are multiple tee placement options so players of all levels can enjoy the game. 

 

Almost every Friday night, SouthWood Golf Club hosts live music, but there are a number of other fun activities that take place throughout the week, including reservation-only dinners, Trivia night, Bingo night and more.

SouthWood Parks & Pool

If you can’t make it to New York City, that’s ok! There’s a Central Park located in the heart of SouthWood Tallahassee. The 123-acre park contains a paved path around a serene lake. Residents enjoy jogging, walking and bicycle riding through the area. 

In addition to the parks and trails, SouthWood residents can also enjoy tennis courts, a swimming pool with a play area for kids and a community clubhouse.

Shopping & Amenities near the SouthWood Neighborhood

Just around the corner residents will find a Publix SouthWood Tallahassee supermarket, located at 3551 N Blair Stone Rd, Tallahassee, FL 32301. There’s also a Starbucks, CVS Pharmacy, multiple restaurants (El Jalisco SouthWood is a local favorite) and more, so you don’t have to worry about driving far to get what you need.
